Kim Hyun Ok, a warm but naive Korean girl living in China, is enthralled by Dandong's Leader Mo Il Hwa upon meeting him, for she believes he is a good person despite appearances, and she wishes to grow closer to him, yet he does not appear to welcome a friendship with this almost childlike girl.Though charming, Mo Il Hwa can be pretty cool and icy. Will he let Hyun Ok completely melt his heart, or will it remain numb to her? Will Hyun Ok always remain oblivious to the iniquity in the world? Is pure love truly enough to carry the day in a country that is in turmoil? At what price must Hyun Ok purchase good judgement?

*Note*: I do not own any characters from Inspiring Generation that may appear in this work. Hyun Ok and most others, however, are of my own creation.

In the heart of the Xinglong Empire, where courtly politics are as treacherous as the battlefield, Princess Lian has always known her place-on the fringes of royalty, judged by her mother's lowly origins and disregarded as a pawn in the king's grand schemes. Quiet and graceful, she hides her own secrets, her strength veiled behind the facade of a docile princess. When she is given as a "war prize" to General Wei Jiang, a hardened soldier with a fearsome reputation, her world changes forever. Wei Jiang has spent his life on the battlefield, his loyalty to the kingdom unshakable but his heart encased in steel. He neither desires nor understands love, believing it a luxury for others. When he is forced into a marriage with the quiet, seemingly fragile princess, he regards her as yet another obligation in his life of duty. As Lian moves to the general's barracks, a world far removed from the opulence of the palace, she begins to see the man behind the armor-a calm, disciplined leader haunted by the cost of war. And as Wei Jiang observes her courage and quiet resilience, he starts to suspect that there is more to her than meets the eye. But their budding connection is tested by secrets from both their pasts and plots that could endanger the empire. Wei Jiang must decide if he can trust the woman he was forced to marry, even as his own heart begins to betray him.

TaeKook Switch [---Completed---] It was not love at first sight. No. Their bond is something much more than a mere attraction. It was something that has been simmered for years. An acquaintance, a friend, a brother in arms, a wellwisher.... Growing up together as soldiers, both Jungkook and Taehyung knew that they are just a mere pawns.. waiting to be sacrificed in the game of politics played by the Royals and officials of the Five nations. They knew perfectly well that the path they are travelling is a dead end. But as soldiers, they would do anything to protect 'Neer' their homeland.. one of the five nations. It's not the war that scared them. It's the growing feelings towards eachother. Feeling that are considered to be a Sin. Feelings they shouldn't feel in the midst of a warhorn echoing from all sides and the swords aiming their way. But there they stood. In the war ground. Swords in their hands, pointing at the ground. The doom was fast approaching but their eyes locked, realization hitting them hard. Realization of how much they mean to eachother. How much they want eachother. This story is about the birth and development of the best friendship between Donghua Dijun and his little fox. In my re-imagined story, I am attempting to give our beloved leads a genuine chance at love with their own thoughts, behaviors, and desires. Granted, life is full of misunderstandings, obstacles and karma. Donghua learns that being a heartless god has its consequences. Having been careless and inconsiderate with the hearts of those who had fawned over him, he'll find it difficult to fulfill his. At its very core, this is a character-driven story about healing from trauma and the growth of a deep and meaningful friendship. It also attempts to explore the coming of age of love and desire for each of them. Those who can't tolerate slow burns should avoid reading this story ;) They meet much later, (she never becomes his maid) and was not involved in the BQ/Su Su/YH situation. Xiao Bai is young and very innocent as this story unfolds. Donghua is arrogant and obtuse, though with more playfulness and tenderness in the style of The Pillow Book. His edges are much softer. There are quite a few characters from the original series. Zhe Yan, Mo Yuan, Bai Zhen, Bai Qian, Ye Hua, Lian Song, Si Ming and Zhong Lin will make appearances, plus others from Eternal Love and ELOD. Lust + desire will play a part of this story so mature themes/content in later chapters. Reader discretion advised. Story is also LGBTQ+ friendly, as am I. This story and the characters are based on Tangi Gongzi's Three Lives Three Worlds, the Pillow Book, and TMOPB. Images borrowed for this story (like the book cover) belong to the tv dramas and their respective owners/artists. I ask that the original elements of of my story, characters, ideas, and descriptions not be copied or used without my permission. Thank you! May all beings hold themselves and others in lovingkindness.
