Nearly a century after the last appearance of Sozin's Comet, Fire Prince Zuko, freshly burned and banished by his father at the young age of thirteen, discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg. When Admiral Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver his prisoner back to Royal Caldera City, to Zuko's surprise, the young Avatar offers to help him and his uncle escape. They take refuge from the Fire Navy in the abandoned Air Temples, where Aang insists on searching for any remnants of his people that he can find.
