14 year old Ash had always felt odd connections to felines. Specifically, those who are the smaller breeds. Cats had always loved her, as well. She owns two young tabby cats, who almost seem like relatives to her.  

She had no idea that this strange connection was something that would begin a new era of scientific research. 

And that's why they said she was as free as a cat.
