I opened and closed my mouth unable to form reasonable words or a proper reaction. She steps further away from me, clearly surprised she did what she did but not at all remorseful.
It doesn't take long for Zayd to waltz in looking for me, he quietly observes the both of us before speaking. "What's going on?" He asks slowly and I gulp unable to give a proper answer.
Alina bolts back into the house and I stare at Zayd wordlessly "tell me" he grabs my shoulders. "She slapped me," I say softly and his concerned expression quickly morphs into that of pure anger.
