I looked outside; the sun had set but the light remained. That little moment when the light still covers the sky before night swallows it up, that tiny moment in time is when the sky truly looks majestic. I decided to take a shower and go for a run. The music in my ears ease my nerves and I feel much more calm. When I turn the corner I bump into something and skid back a few feet. "I'm so sorry." Their voice sends chills down my spine. "It's fine." They help me up and our jaws drop when we make eye contact. You wouldn't believe who I saw.

I can remember the fear of the tree falling in front of my car, after it was struck by lightning. I can remember how it felt, cold rain on a summer afternoon pounded on my skin as I stepped out of my car. I was headed home to my parents house after graduating college. I remember the security I felt when he showed up, and told me everything would be okay, and to stay in my car. I remember the rain stopping and him getting to work removing the tree. I remember when his gray eyes looked into my green ones, as he woke me up to tell me it was clear. I remember my heart never beat the same after him.

I ran. I ran as fast as I could. I soon found myself in a forest. The sound of light footsteps and crunching leaves caught my eye and I looked back. I saw her. Midnight black hair. Bright blue eyes. She was beautiful. Her body was hidden behind tree but her eyes never left mine. I blinked, thinking it was all in my head and when I lifted my eyelids she was gone. maybe someday I'll see her again.

We came to a stop in front of what looked to be a farm house of some sort? Probably a slaughter house, this is where my life ends. He got out of his car without making a sound and opened my door. "Get out" He said calmly. "W-where are we?" "Get out of the car." he said in a harsher tone. What the hell did I get myself into. A dark romance between a shy girl and a tormented soul. *short story*

To my surprise, he looked up and our eyes met. Embarrassed, I quickly closed the window, feeling a rush of heat on my cheeks. I hadn't expected him to notice me observing him.
