Matt Wilson is 13 years old. He has an intense interest in United States history, but he doesn't tell his friends because he doesn't want to be bullied the way he was when he was 11. When he attends a civil war reenatment with his family, an event where people dress up like it is the 1860s and act out pretend battles, Matt meets a kid who looks to be his age. The kid is dressed up as a Confederate soldier and seems shocked when Matt approaches him and tries to talk to him. Why? Because this soldier died 155 years ago...

This is my attempt at writing a better version of the novel "Ghost Soldier" by Elaine Marie Alphin. The characters are all my own, but her story gave me the idea to write about a young boy who meets a ghost soldier.
