Everybody has their survival story. Mine is a little bit different.
We all knew that the Apocalypse was coming sooner or later, we just didn't know how. Was it going to be a solar flare? Maybe technology took over the world and guns actually started to kill people on their own.
No, we get zombies. Not from dawn of the dead, night of the living dead, or even world war Z. This "disease" is man made. Man did it to them selves.

'I turned around and saw a creeper standing directly behind me, tilting his head to take a bite of my neck. It's breath was putrid, their crooked teeth stained orange from the feeding of animals. I grabbed my knife out of my boot and sliced it's throat. It stumbled back and came at me again. I poised the knife in my hand and forced it into its bloodshot eye. Blood pooled out of its socket as it fell to the ground.' Arizona is living in a world of ruin and wreckage in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. It seems there is no hope for having a normal family someday. People she loves are dying left and right and she doesn't know what to do as they are consumed by the virus. Until her life turns around for the better when she encounters somebody in the forest. The world crumbles down around her, will she ever come out of the rubble alive? Infection
It starts with a simple itch, nothing more. Maybe a few random spasms or the occasional shudder but you'll think nothing of it. Then you'll get blood shot eyes... Not enough sleep? It gets worse, much worse. The itching turns to scratching, clawing at you skin until it bleeds... and bleeds and bleeds. Feeding Frenzy
In a blink of an eye, the whole world can change. Evey had always lived a normal life. She was an emergency room nurse, had friends, and had a family that she loved. Her mundane world changes when she watches a man attack and feast on the flesh of another man at a gas station. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated attack. Majority of the population has been infected with an unknown airborne virus. Not only does it cause people to foam at the mouth and bleed from the eyes, but it turns them into mindless creatures that are hungry for flesh. Zombies? Not quite. They are infected, not dead. Evey's life is destroyed when her family becomes Infected. Being one of the few Immune, Evey is taken away to a military base with other people who seem to not be infected by the virus. There she meets multiple people including Ford, a stubborn and stern soldier that she is always disagreeing with but finds herself distracted by his eyes. The Immune band together and work for survival. Will they ever be able to find a cure? At what cost would they go to stay safe? Will they kill each other before being eaten alive?Complete

A Different Virus - Laura's Story
This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent?
