I'm posting this looking for some feedback. Any constructive criticism will be greatly appreciated. Writing has always provided me with solace, by helping me to sort through and frame my emotional experience. During one of the more difficult times in my life--recognizing a toxic marriage and leaving--I used writing to understand what was happening. The poems, short stories, and essays here reflect my fragmented journey toward mental health. Works of art, they are not. For every person out there that was quiet, not because they chose to be so, but because they were choking in the smoke. Because their opinions were apparently not worth anything. Because they didn't know just how to say what they felt. For every person that is consumed by their own thoughts, the derision from the outside world only making it worse. For every soul that was drowning in remorse and anguish on restless nights. For every soul that says I love you in the dark and in the mirror because no one else does. For the floors we would pace while anxiety sunk its teeth into us. For the mirrors that we would break while shame echoed its laugh in our caged walls. For the hearts that would ache while loneliness was the only company. For every moment of pain and solitude in this world that feels too cruel for such young and frail minds.

How would God respond to making a mistake? Would planets collide or mountains slide into the sea? Or would the ledger of all life simply remain out kilter until a series of small events forced that ledger back into balance again? It's probably the latter. After all, you don't want to call attention to your mistakes if you're an all-powerful being. In the drowning at Los Gatos, two children find themselves in circumstances where death is likely. The first child has fallen down an abandoned well and the second is in a plane that is about to crash. God must choose which child will live, which will die, and hope that no mistake is made. It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. First, we are here and then we are not.

'You didn't answer my question,' he asked, holding her gaze in his hypnotic ones. 'Wh... what question?' She was surprised at her own voice, it sounded like of someone else's. She wanted to ask him--which question, there were so many he had asked her tonight. Each one threatening in their own different ways to her sanity. Brandan smiled mysteriously. Not answering her, he instead said something else, 'Don't keep staring at me like that.' His voice was soft. Suddenly, she found herself in some other world. 'W.. why?' She stammered ridiculously. His lips slightly brushed against her, she closed her eyes in anticipation, under the spell of their lips connecting. Sparking were the electricity all over her skin. ''Cause....' He took a step back from her, leaving her cold and she was too lost to do something about it--like leaping closer to him and getting engulfed in the euphoric warmth once again. ''Cause, you will fall in love with me... ' He paused as growling deeply a set of thunders boomed above the skies. Cold wind made her hair dance around. He finally finished his sentence, 'Again.' Rain poured down upon her heavily as if the entire sky was about to break down over her, She opened her eyes against the cold water to see he had lef alreadyt, leaving her to drown into his words, completely. *** They say love's blind. Maybe that's why Emma loved Brandan despite all odds, more than she loved herself but only to find that it wasn't enough. When time and fate decided to be cruel to the utmost, she found herself broken in all the ways possible. Realizing that love wasn't enough, she picked up her ruined self and found a new beginning at the end. But fate had, apparently, some unexpected plans in store. Against all odds, they were meant to face one another once again. But this time, Brandan was a changed man and so was Emma. While one was burnt from the pain, another was burnt from the guilt. And then...

💜preview ________ ❤️there stood a girl, small pearly beads of glistering tears tumbling down her pale face. the girl stood on a railing of a bridge between death and a second chance.... her tears soaked her beautiful night gown and complimented her snow like hair that reached her feet, greatly. her dark serene eyes stared at the water below. the only things that separated her from the water was the few inches of space and her contemplating thoughts that ran across her mind. 💙the scars on her legs did no damage to the serene beauty of the girl. 💜the girl who turned seventeen that day was contemplating on ending it all.... ending the ever lasting torture and suffering..... but as she was on the brink of her ending a thought swirled through her mind. 💛" what would happen if I did this.... will she even care..... will she even give me a proper funeral.... " the girl though as contemplation was stopping her from it. 🧡from those thoughts it only made it more difficult for her to end it.... she was fatherless.... leaving her when she was a day old..... leaving her mother without a penny.... making her into a drunk addict.... 💚from that day on.... there weren't a day she hoped she lived..... getting verbally abused by the one who gave birth to her.... one who made living a suffering.... A living hell, the one who brought that man in to her life... 🖤all these thoughts made her will stronger... made her see that she had a second chance..... 💙but that thought washed away.... when she took her last breath that day crushing the second chance she longed to have just a few minutes ago..... read to find out what happened next
