In the dawn of the twenty-second century, vampires have taken over humanity. They rule kingdoms in the American wilderness patterned after the feudal system of medieval Europe. Humans are separated into three castes, the small, high-ranking Breeders, the clever and loyal Slaves, and the Herds. The last vestiges of humanity are wild bands of humans that live in the woods, striking out in small, uncoordinated attacks against the vampire overlords.
Fish, personal slave to the powerful Madame, is thrust into a crisis of conflict when she meets Josephine, the granddaughter of the leaders of the largest known tribe of remaining humans, who is setting out to reclaim the world for humanity. Her loyalties will be tested against the harsh but protective mistress whom she's known all her life, and the alluring freedom that Josephine and her band of zealots promise.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
