The Nikara Cycle 

This cycle of episodic stories is focused primarily on the world of the Lower Astral Plane that is a parallel sphere of existence with the mortal physical realm.  In the stories, this plane is set mainly in San Francisco.  This is a world with its own rules and dangers.  Here those who fall away from the process of Reincarnation may wander among strange creatures, slavers and organized crime societies.  The organization that protects and guides the lost humans are the Yamadutas.  They are the main characters of these tales which focus on their adventures.  

Colonel Kokufu secures for Andrew a place in an elite and secretive school in rural Northern California, Arawak Academy.  There he will be prepared to compete for the role of Red Five.  Andrew struggles to find his place in a world far removed from his own and forms a rivalry with Wesley d'Isigny for the role of Red Five.All Rights Reserved
