Gensokyo... A land of Fantasy and the Occult, hidden within the mountains of Japan. Few knew it's exact location, and from within a community flourished.

Humans, magicians, fairies, Youkai and even Oni coexisted there peacefully. Although some started incidents that could possibly doom the land, which were all stopped by one figure. A shrine maiden clad in red and white, the shrine maiden of Hakurei.

However a new incident rose. Darkness spreads across the land, and was only lit by the moon which is now driving most of Gensokyo's denizens into a state of insanity, and even the Hakurei Shrine Maiden... Fell to it's influence.

Only one hope remains, which falls to a Fairy who finds herself awakened in the shores of the Sanzu River... And her name, is Cirno.
Wether she succumbs into the moon's mind-altering effects, or she saves the land... Depends on her choices.

Most days, you can find Mizuki Nekoyama in Hell, creeping through pitch-black passages, disabling deadly traps, and avoiding even-deadlier monsters. But that's the job of a Scout; highly-trained and extremely-capable individuals willing to brave the Depths in exchange for money, power and prestige. Most often, however, their careers are cut short between heartbeats if they let their guard down for just a single second. For the past five years, Mizuki, or 'Zen', has lived with the guilt that comes with losing her friends and lover inside one of the nation's Dungeons, and has searched far and wide for the person she believes is responsible for their tragic demise. She might be obsessive, compulsive, brutal, and slightly crazed, yet its exactly those traits which will allow her to progress in her mission; track down her quarry; and along the way found an organization capable of bringing entire nations to their knees. (Note: Cover Art ripped from a Google search. Whomever the creator is has an amazing talent, and I hope they go on to do Many Great Things.) DISCLAIMER, in BIG, BOLD LETTERS: This fictional tale deals with topics including, but not limited to: Slavery, Brutal uses of Swords and Magic, Murder, Racism, Sex, LGBT-Q, Political Intrigue, Rape, Torture, Bloody Slaughter, and much, much more. (It's been a while since I made a Touhou story... a really long time in fact.) Gensokyo, a land where the fantasy and the unknown is more than mere myths written on papers and spread by superstitious people. Inside, a completely different world exist, a world separated from our own by the great Hakurei Barrier. In it, youkais exist and live their lives while the few humans inside are grouped together, living in fear of the monsters roaming this land. This is how Gensokyo behaves; a stable "peace" maintained by people in charge of keeping this world of fantasy in its current state. With so many creatures with different mindsets and frightening powers, events called "incidents" are bound to occur. Thankfully, the shrine maiden attending to the barrier is quick to take action, even despite her annoyed groans. ...This is one of those many incidents that should have easily been taken care of. Yes, a winter overstaying its welcome seemed like an easy task to deal with. Yet, something went wrong. It was never solved. The endless snow continued to fall and no one could understand what caused this drastic change. The weather grew stronger and with it, its poison and true intentions finally emerged. Those exposed to the harsh environment soon began to suffer symptoms of a strange disease and fell into madness, attacking everyone in sight regardless of their nature. It was not uncommon to see Fairies attack and even devour each other for survival against the temperature. The threat Gensokyo was facing seemed relentless and nobody was safe from its effect; going outside with no protection was akin to signing your last will. Finally... the last straw that brought ruin to this world was the death of the shrine maiden. The strength of this eternal winter slipped past the breaking barrier and reached the Outside World, plunging the planet into chaos. The only hope the sane humans and youkais have is to find the source of this incident and put an end to it.

Six people, six locations, six accidents... Same place. After unexpected events occur, six people find themselves in the land only known as Gensokyo. Confussed and flabbergasted, they introduce each other before procceding... Until, the introductions split them into two groups. After the two groups can't seem to trust each other, they each walk in one direction, hoping for the best. Lost and yet to fully realize the dangers lurking in the forest they find themselves in, they continue to walk carefree. Who are those people? Well... There is a politician, who desires to achieve greatness. A priest, who has a questionable mindset and intends. A military engineer, who is mostly incompetent in the military part but capable in the engineering one. An avarage soldier, who is trying to play the big hero. A simple janitor, who just wants to get back home and last but not least, a man. A man, who did not mention anything about him. Curious. Just what will happen to them? Will they survive past the first day? Will they be able to find the Human Village and settle upon a new life? Or will some of them get power hungry ideas, which might as well cause a new incident like no other? Only time can tell... Note: This is my second story, I have no idea what I am doing and I can say for certain that I will most likely get the character personalities wrong at times. If that happens, I will apreciate a comment pointing out the mistake so I may improve in the future.
