She was different than the other girls.
Damian could tell that the minute he saw her.
Maybe in a good way, but maybe not.

A carefree stride, a mischievous smile, sharp chocolate brown eyes, and an even sharper silver tongue. She seemed to be the first female that wasn't instantly infatuated with him-and it's absolutely bizarre.

She fascinates him, though Damian would rather chew off his own foot before admitting it. He'd never seen nor met a girl as intriguing yet aggravating as her.

She was a walking, talking mystery that kept getting more and more complicated the more Damian attempted to crack it. Call him interested, fascinated, obsessed maybe- he'd ignore you and continue analyzing the L.A. girl, who had unknowingly stolen his heart piece by piece.

Hazel's got other things to worry about than garnering the affections of Gotham's little prince, though, but she wouldn't refuse hanging out with him. She's got to keep up her grades, support her mute mother, earn money at her wildlife rescue center job, take care of her ADHD and her little superpowers. She doesn't have time for asskissing, and especially doesn't have time to deal with Damian's "holier-than-thou" bullsh*t, so as soon as he starts up his typical narcissistic BS, Hazel's long gone.

But one fateful day, their lives intertwine with one another's in an impossible knot that neither of them can unravel. Hazel is thrust headfirst into a sea of secrets and deception, of lies and danger, of justice and evil, and she finds herself fighting to stay afloat.

Fighting to stay true to what she stood for.
