Today, when we read the Bible we know that there are 150 separate poems which were addressed to God (prayers) and all were likely sung (songs). The title Psalms comes from the Greek via the Septuagint "psalmos"; which is the translation of the word "mizmor" found under the titles of 60+ psalms. In Jewish tradition however the book is known as "Tehillim," the plural of "tehillia" and thus means "Praises" or "Hymns". This title itself acknowledges the fact that though laments in the book outnumber the hymns in the book, the predominant tone of the book is "Praise."
The scribes who have compiled this book wanted to pass on a message to us through these books and we shall in the coming days learn them together !
For those who think the Bible is simply a book of information, the question arises as to the presence of poetic language there. Prose communicates information much more precisely and efficiently, and if that were the sole goal of the Bible then poetic language would be a liability. But the transmission of information is not the only purpose of the Bible. The psalms not only intend to teach theology, but also arouse the readers emotions, stimulate their imagination and appeal to their will.

Here we do our best to use world religions, history, ancient mysticism, our own poetry and "Wordsmything" and divining, astrology, psychological and neurological journey to discovering our sharing one body, and the beginning of our mind's organic introspective geneses of mythologies and prophecies surrounding both our inner microcosm, the Mirrored Cosmos, and the outer macrocosm, the Unreflected Cosmos-anchoring it to our own spiritual beliefs as Ashkenazi Kabbalist and Spanish Catholic Mystic. Zeniyah was murdered five miles west of my home at five years old when I was only one. Our mothers were the same age, same look and build, both alone for long periods of time, and fate had it that I survived instead of the girl who grew up alongside me as my guardian and wife.
