Markus, an up-and-coming New York artist, as up-and-coming as you can be when you don't show your work to anyone, has a strange fixation. On a woman. The same woman who walks past his house everyday, to the point she became the inspiration for his latest piece.

She captivated him but he never expected it to go further than that. He never thought for a second that his roommate would submit his work in for a competition, he thought even less that he'd actually win.

Now his piece, of a woman he doesn't even know the name of, is going to be shown for the whole world to see.
And the last thing he ever thought would happen? Spark up a friendship with that same woman in a coffee shop, to the point his fixation on her exterior appearance becomes something more.

He can only hope that doesn't get ruined when she finds out he's been obsessing over her for the past year. Hope being the key word.

Ethan and Luca were inseparable as children-two boys who spent their summer days building forts, sharing secrets, and dreaming of a future that would never tear them apart. But when Ethan's family suddenly moves to another state, their once unbreakable bond starts to fade. The letters slow, the phone calls dwindle, and soon, childhood promises give way to the inevitable distance that time creates. Years later, fate steps in when they are unexpectedly reunited as roommates during their sophomore year of college. Both have changed-Ethan is now a confident, outgoing athlete, while Luca has grown more reserved, preferring the solitude of his studies. Old memories resurface as they struggle to find common ground in the midst of their new lives. What begins as a tentative reconnection evolves into a friendship neither of them realized they still needed. But as the months go by, unspoken feelings rise to the surface. Ethan can't help but notice how much Luca has changed-and how deeply he's drawn to him in ways he doesn't fully understand. The more time they spend together, the more he questions if his feelings for Luca are more than just nostalgia for the boy he once knew. Meanwhile, Luca is grappling with his own confusion, unsure if what he feels for Ethan is just a longing for the past or the beginning of something more. As their bond strengthens, so does the tension between them, building toward a moment that will change everything. When Ethan finally confesses his feelings, Luca is forced to confront the truth he's been hiding from himself all along. In a story filled with slow-burn romance, emotional growth, and the intricacies of love and friendship. From childhood companions to star-crossed college roommates, Ethan and Luca's journey is a heartwarming and achingly tender exploration of friendship, loss, and the kind of love that spans both time and distance.

This is about you. This is a book but not a book. I don't know if that makes sense but, well here it goes. This is about a guy. A guy who has been there in my life for so long that I can't imagine him not being there anymore. A guy who is mean, rude and idiotic to me but also sweet, caring and loving. A guy who knows me inside out. A guy who even with his flaws is just perfect. A guy whose smile can melt all my problems away. A guy whose sadness, I can't stand to see. A guy who will never see me the way I see him. A guy who can never be mine. This is about him. This is about my feelings for him. This is for you AK. NOTE: This is a book about a girl and a boy. Obviously. But it's not the usual way of writing a book. It's kind of this girl speaking or writing about her feelings at the end of the day. Kind of like a journal but also not. I hope you like it.
