A novel I wrote many years ago. It isn't *good* exactly, but it's here and it has some merits.
On the continent of Athree, in Drug Making Town, - named so for the obvious reason - a new and exciting era for the entire universe has just begun, and it begins with two students studying at The Sanctuary For High-Potential Minds, or the S.H.M.
Caine Rush is the fastest guitarist of Drug Town and a student of Music at the S.H.M. He has recently met an associate of the current Master of Music, and has been asked to write a piece for her, so that she may judge whether he may be a composer for the Sky City Prime Theatre. However, he's finding it hard make time for composition since the arrival of the second student, Morn Tranquil. Her sudden appearance is suspicious, and despite quickly forming a friendship with Caine, she remains mute on the subject of her past.
And, perhaps the most distressing thing, is the recent rise in cases of white blood disease. The illness has been known for the past year, but recently something has caused it to begin spreading far faster than before, and Drug Making Town seems to be the epicentre.
Noor, a dancer in the Royal Court of the Al-Yauzhan Empire wants nothing more than to pay off her debts and lead a nice, simple life-but a chance encounter with the crown prince and his brother brings her into the dangerous world of court politics. As Noor and the princes investigate their uncle and cousin's possible treason, she grows closer to the crown prince, but in order to save the kingdom and the person she loves, Noor will have to risk everything...
A romantic adventure set in an imagined Arabic kingdom, THE DANCING GIRL is a story of court intrigues, romantic entanglements, and secret meetings as Noor and her best friend Amir try to help the princes they're falling for expose corrupt court officials with plans to seize the throne. Noor and Amir are close to having everything they've ever dreamed of...now all they need to do is survive.
