He makes dumb mistakes so you don't have to.

"A great and humorous kids/young teen story with plenty of twists and tension." Entrada Publishing

15-year-old Krista Winnette worries about her dad, Drew. After all, he just lost his job, and Krista's mom just left him. Now all Drew has is a dwindling bank account, a ten-year-old car and a musty motel room he can barely afford. So he does what every unemployed man must do in this desperate situation: He becomes a private eye.

Drew knows nothing about being a private eye, but how hard could it be? As he says in his Facebook ad: "You ever wondered how a private eye finds a missing person? Or trails a cheating husband? So have I! So hire me, and I'll figure it out! I'll try stuff the other guys won't even consider - 'cause I don't know any better!"

As Drew goes about learning his new job, he finds himself a rather enthusiastic partner - Krista! Together, they investigate the case of a fading movie star who tragically fell to her death on the set. But was it an accident - or did someone take their "creative differences" a little too far? Join our two bumbling private detectives as they constantly scramble to stay afloat and sometimes even to stay alive. The story will keep you guessing right up to the surprise ending!

If you like Theodore Boone, The Adventures of Jack Lime or Veronica Mars, you'll love My Dad, the Private Eye. Tweens, teens and even adults will get a thrill out of this middle grade detective series full of fun mystery and funny action.

And if you like The Falling Star, check out the next book in the series, My Dad, the Private Eye: Keep on Truckin'. Drew and Krista get their first paid gig, tracking down a missing trucker. But when he turns up dead, and neither his employer nor his wife want to know why, our fledgling investigators get into some seriously sticky - and seriously dangerous - situations trying to crack the case. (Make sure to read it to the end for another surprise ending!)

Between juggling the struggles of being a teen parent, going to a new school in a new neighborhood, being ridiculed and bullied by his own mother, finding interest in a new girl that's more dangerous for him than he might think and being severely stabbed by his own family member, will Theodore ever be able to break free of this downward spiral his life is tangled in? After being pushed out of a window on the fourth story of hotel, Lindsey hit the concrete pretty hard. She has no clue as to what happened to her, how she got to the hospital, how she fell out of the window or anything up until the moment she was told what happened to her. Without being able to remember an ounce of the past, how will she continue to live her life the way she did in the past or get the courage to tell her child, that her parents are raising as their own, that she's his mother? And while all of this is happening in Lindsey and Theodore's life, a problem from their past is still brewing a master plan to exterminate the entire west coast of the McDonald-Reed family. Soon, this problem from their past will arrive with an army of their enemies in full force, ready to take out their entire family. Over the years, this family has been through ups and downs, high points, low points, lies, cheating, deceit, addictions, assaults, back stabbing but never anything of this caliber. They crossed a lot of people in their past, but did they cross just one too many people? Follow the 8th installment to The Sideline Series, filled with love, hurt, pain, scandal and deception and see where the McDonald-Reed family ends up once it's all said and done and they're all left to stand up against their enemies alone.

*UNDERGOING EDITING AND SMALL CHANGES RANKED #1 IN #DADSBESTFRIEND TROPE My gaze was fixed on Weston, wanting to look away so he didn't see me but unable to, and so when he whipped his head in my direction, he looked me square in the eyes. I was painfully aware of how I was sitting on Dego's lap, his arm around my waist, mine around his neck. I couldn't move, couldn't breathe, and he didn't either for several time stopping seconds. Then he slowly took a step in my direction, and kept walking until he was standing directly in front of Dego and I. •~•~•~•~•~•~••~~• Two years ago Avery Blackwood's father met and married a demure Sunday school teacher, who, within a matter of months, spent his entire savings and completely wiped out everything he'd done over the years, wrapping up the whole thing by having an affair. Her father divorced the woman, but it was too late to save the families finances, and before they could even begin to get back on their feet, Daniel Blackwood is deployed to the middle east, leaving Avery with her wealthy cousins to try and acclimate to an environment foreign to the one she was raised in. The pressure builds until Avery makes the choice to leave, her destination over halfway across the country; her brothers ranch in southeastern Colorado. The only obstacles-she has fifty dollars to her name and no car, and her controlling aunt standing in the way. Influenced by a childhood of war and action movies, Avery, armed with a bowie knife and determination, simply heads out the back door and doesn't look back. She isn't expecting her envisioned trek across America to end so soon; a chance meeting with a family friend and neighbor who feels responsible for his friends daughter causes her to alter her plans. Within the few days she is with Weston Travers, she falls for him, and falls hard, but falling in love with someone ten years her senior may not have the fairytale ending every girl dreams about. Previously titled: "Blue Eyed Doll" ------------------------------- Draven Kjellberg belongs to one of the richest families in the world. He's had everything he's ever wanted and more due to not only his parents seemingly never-ending amount of cash, but his fame in his own country. Sweden. He's just mostly known for his criminal record and screwing up his parents's reputations, honestly. Then a random girl living in a small town hundreds of of miles away decides to message him on a popular texting app. At first, he was skeptical about answering her back. Eventually, he went against his non-existent morals and messaged her back anyways. He never knew that he would fall in love with her along the way. Secrets are revealed, pasts are uncovered, and repressed memories are dug back up. Not only that, but the world's biggest lies are told and discovered. This isn't a story of everything escalating from hell to the greatest thing that's ever happened to someone (okay, maybe it is). This is a story based on a couple of questions: How far will you go for the one you love? And is it even worth it in the end? ------------------------------- This novel deals with topics such as domestic violence, self-harm, and depression. This novel is rated PG-13: drinking, smoking, partying, violence, and cursing--all involving teens.
