Every thousand years a portal opens that takes whoever enters to the world they most desire to go. Most people could care less about the portal opening as they are happy with and don't want to leave their real lives.
Well everyone except for two girls, Harley Jones and Jade Smith. They had always had a fascination with the portal. Harley more than Jade, as Jade just wanted Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue, while Harley want Niklaus Mikaelson from The Originals and Vampire Diaries.
After they enter the portal things change as they no have new identity's, family's, and they aren't even human anymore.
