Pearl was looking forward to a quiet Junior year at home learning online. When her US History teacher assigns them a project to advocate for a cause they deeply care about, Pearl chooses to honor her late father, a mail carrier, and attempt to save the post office. Stuck inside because of the pandemic, she starts writing letters to random addresses sent to her by her friends. One day, Pearl gets an unexpected letter back.

In 2017, seven college friends receive letters they wrote to themselves ten years ago in a writing class. They decide to reunite in New York City after they learn their beloved professor has died. Over one night the members of their group reminisce about a simpler time, reignite old flames, and grapple with where they thought they'd be ten years ago as opposed to where they actually ended up.
