At 14, Kyla May Grynd's life was torn apart by a tragic accident that shaped the 16-year-old she is today. For the past, almost three years, May only had one goal in mind, and that was to make her Momma proud. It was all she had left to live for, though circumstances are bound to change in the process of healing. May thought it'd be easy to ignore the outside world, but there was one thing she couldn't just shrivel and place in the back of her head. That thing goes by Cameron Walker, and boy if it wasn't hate at first sight for Kyla May.

At 17, Cameron Walker made a vow to never fall in love after he walked in on his father with a woman other than his mom. A few months later, it finally took him some balls to admit he was an idiot right after he laid eyes on the raven-haired girl sitting in the back of his Geometry class. Call him cliche, but Cameron knew he just had to know the new girl, and hell if he wasn't going down without a fight.

Kayla May is stubborn, a trait inherited from her dear mother, and when she's stubborn, she fights back.

But Cameron strives for what he wants, and what he wants, he takes. And his prize? Well, there's nothing better than breaking down weird Kyla May's walls.

And who knows? Two broken halves are meant to make a whole.
