Alaric is the Crown Prince and can only become King once he weds but he has no desire to marry some girl for power. His mind is still dealing with the loss of a good friend, Morgianna, whom he thought would be a part of his life forever.
Drinking becomes his escape as bar visits become more frequent. However his whole world changes when a girl literally falls into his lap. Soon Mismatched eyes are replaced by crystal clear blue ones and Raven hair replaced by locks of golden blonde.
When he finally catches up to the girl that has invaded his mind will his obsession finally cease or will he find love far greater than he ever imagined?
Jasmine lost everything during the war and with nowhere to go she was "taken in" as a servant for a prestigious family. She didn't want to be there and would rather take her chances running away. At least on her own she would know when her next meal would come.
She packed her bags which consisted of the dress she wore the day she came to their home and her toiletries. Her meager belongings weighed nothing on her back as she set out to find a new life. However, she doesn't make it far when she finds out that life is a lot harder than she expected. Being accosted by some hooligans she would rather die than allow them to have their way so she throws herself out a window. Instead of the hard ground meeting her she finds herself in the arms of a handsome man, a prince no less! She tells him a lie about her name afraid of retribution for falling on him and runs away but his eyes never leave her mind.
When he seeks her out will she take his hand and escape the bad cards that have been dealt or will she allow the winds to blow and let her card house crumble around her?

THIS IS A SEQUEL TO HE'S MY MATE I feel the cold stones pressed to my back, seeping through the piece of fabric I have on to cover my body, the concrete below just as cold.
