This is the story of Wardeh Barakat, a middle eastern girl that feels doubly occupied, first by her family and second by her country. This is the story of finding true love, finding a place where there is acceptance, escaping from getting killed, and finally gaining freedom. The freedom that most teenage girls all over the world already have, the freedom of being independence, the freedom of hoping or a better future, and the freedom of moving to Australia forever and never returning back home.

Some lessons in life are obvious. Some are taught in classrooms, written neatly across whiteboards. And then there are the lessons no one prepares you for-lessons in love. And the moral is simple: you can only truly understand that lesson once you've lived it. Ammarah has always believed that life itself is a classroom. A smile can tell a story. A single word can change a moment. And sometimes, the quietest gestures leave the deepest marks. She's careful, thoughtful, and used to her predictable Australian life... until her cousin Maleeha arrives with her friend and cousin from London among them, Saad. The boy whose presence seems to rewrite every rule Ammarah thought she knew, and whose laughter fills the spaces she didn't even know were empty. What starts as sightseeing, playful teasing, and long conversations under the winter sun slowly turns into lessons Ammarah never expected the lesson of a glance that lingers too long, the lesson of a heart that stumbles when someone speaks, the lesson that sometimes, feelings arrive long before you're ready to face them. For Saad, Australia is more than a holiday. It's discovery, it's adventure and it's her. Every shared conversation, every quiet laugh, every fleeting look becomes a lesson he can't ignore... a lesson about falling, about holding back, about wanting something that might not be his to want. As the three months draw to an end, confessions hover in the air, hearts ache quietly, and some lessons are learned the hard way. But time and distance have a way of teaching even deeper truths. Somewhere between winter and summer, between Australia and London, between friendship and something almost more they both learn the most important lesson of all. Lesson of Love. "Love is the greatest lesson we never knew we were learning until it leaves its mark."
