What gave him the idea that I would do that? The flickering candlelight on the table seemed to dance in sync with my racing thoughts. No... no... no, he's got to be kidding. I might be in trouble for sleeping on the job, but I couldn't agree to that. The thought of getting pregnant and giving up a part of me sent a shiver down my spine.
