After death, reincarnation into a new body is asserted to be instantaneous. Depending upon the accumulated curse, rebirth occurs into a higher or lower bodily form, either in heaven or hell or earthly realm. No bodily form is permanent: everyone dies and reincarnates further.
And this is the story about the two lovers in 1850's who truely love each other very much but also many tragedies will come unexpectedly.
Until the modern era came and in today's era they still carry the curse of the past.
