For the entirety of their relationship, D has been abusing Rae both physically and mentally, and she knows she can't take much more of it but also can't bring herself to leave him. In steps Dabi, your typical "bad guy" who makes the difficult decision to break away from his villain-like persona to protect her as a way of undoing his ignorance in his own past. -- I will admit that this will likely be very out-of-character Dabi! I'm not the best at writing people with personalities like his, but I will try my best. This is a universe where people have quirks (I call them abilities/powers in the work), but it's not as common as it is in the canon universe. Dabi is not a member of the LOV/PLF, as they AND the hero society do not exist in this world. He still has a vengeance towards his father, but I'm approaching it in a different light - one you will see as you read.
