     Eddie Hammond fakes her name, her identity and her qualifications in order to get a job as a lowly technician on the mining ship, Red Dwarf. Although, after secrets from her past resurface, she is sent to spend the rest of her contract in Stasis.

To her horror, Hammond awakes three million years later with a companion equally as useless as she, Dave Lister.

Along with a bipedal cat, a senile computer and a neurotic hologram who takes pride in making her life a living hell, Hammond is forced to endure the aggravating task of finding her place in the universe.
Aside from the company, floating in the expanse of deep space doesn't seem all that bad.
