The fantasy novel that examines the nature of religion, consciousness, and politics through the eyes of a diverse family over one hundred years. Forrest is our main hero, a member of the Scouts, a group of questionably trained individuals who work to keep the rest of the world, out. One day the division that always existed grows a face and name. His religious status gives him credibility among the people, and soon, Forrest's supernatural gifts force him to become more of an outsider then his experience of the world already makes him. A trek towards salvation ensues filled up of a team of outcasts with unofficial doctrine. What seems on the outside to be an evacuation from a toxic society, turns into the discovery of a great philosophical debate.

It's a fantasy that doesn't take itself too seriously. Based on a Disney Chanel sitcom called Kickin it, this story was birthed many years ago when I was first reading the works of Joseph Campbell. So yeah, Forrest Locker is "the chosen one" but it's a little more complicated then that. It's mostly a commentary on the political and religious climate of the western world in disguise of the story of a 12 year old boy who really wants to get laid, and then years later, his son Forrest who's probably on the autism spectrum. There's magic, and weapons, and family rivalry, and a place called "university" where all the smart white wizard people live. There's cool astrology stuff I made up on my own, and monks who chant under ground. Also the planets are all as close to the atmosphere as the moon is to ours, so there are giant balls floating in the sky and it's cool as Frick.
