"Ashton..." My lips lingered close to his, not touching. "Take me away from here, anywhere, please."
"Kiss me, then." He whispers as we slow dance to what seemed like only the first song tonight.
"What?" I said, asking for reassurance.
"If you really want to leave this world," he said in his strong accent. "Pretend my lips are poison. Yours are, too. If we end up kissing tonight, at least we leave this world together."
And with no hesitation, I pushed myself forward and let our lips dance in sync with our bodies. I never felt more alive.
