Landlocked

Gavin Campbell was your typical teenage gamer nerd. He had spent the majority of his high school career gaining a following on social media as C.Gavincci. It wasn't until he became mildly obsessed with tabletop games that his life started to take a turn. Whether for the better or for the worse, no one ever got a chance to find out, because that's when he literally vanished off the face of the planet.

Gavin was sure he was dreaming when he woke up in an unfamiliar bed. His surroundings were not what he'd expect of a bedroom belonging to the 21st century. He couldn't stop thinking that someone managed to play an elaborate prank on him. He had had his fair share of haters on his social media pages, but this was a whole other level of pranking. It felt so real! And he was not himself. Or was he?

As he stepped up to the window in his room to take a look outside, he realized something that blew his mind. He was in a world that was not his own, and yet being here felt so right. Did he bring his dream world to life? Would he ever get home? Would he even want to leave? He was officially Landlocked.

This story is inspired by a series of books by Joel Rosenberg titled "The Guardians of the Flame". It's a story based on the widely known Tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons. Dungeons & Dragons has recently become a big passion of mine and I love the creativity that is such a huge part of it. I've only been playing Dungeons & Dragons for about five months, but I found myself world building long before that and have never been able to find a way to share my world with others until recently. This is my chance to do so!

P.S. I'm one of those writers who does minimal pre-planning when writing my stories. Yes I know that's typically a taboo, but I mostly write to enjoy myself and not necessarily to impress others.
