Taking place in Book 1, You, Mako, and Bolin have stuck together since childhood. Spending almost all of it on the streets of Republic City.
Now grown up, the trio participates in Pro-Bending matches where they meet the Avatar, a Southern Water Tribe girl with an attitude and Asami Sato,
the prestigious daughter of the most successful engineer in the city.
They all become quick friends and team up to go against Amon, the non-bending leader of the Equalist party, believing that bending is a form of oppression and who's goal is to ensure equality among the citizens of the city.
