There wasn't anyone or anything in this world Arcadia Walker loathed more than Luca Magnusson.

Not the bland citizens of the beloved kingdom Eaden, who absolutely adored their king . Not the pixies that were constantly jabbering outside her window, disturbing her thought process. Not even the hatred of Arcadia's no good brothers and sisters who she couldn't seem to shake could compare to the hatred she felt toward King Magnusson, the hero of all.

When plans for the king's assassination were finally put into play, things ended up being a little more complicated than she had anticipated. Everything quickly went awry and Arcadia was forced to go for the next best thing, kidnapping the hero's sidekick, Clementine Elliot.

Now that she had the perfect leverage against Luca, she was prepared to do anything to his precious little friend to make him suffer. The only problem was, Arcadia Walker might have started growing a soft spot for the hero's sidekick.

In a world of gods, pirates, and blessings, Phoenix Finch lives in a small coastal town secluded from the rest of the world. In a town that values rules, traditions, and law above all else, Phoenix has never known of anything else. When he is both rescued and kidnapped by the most fearsome pirate of them all, Nico Maheras, The West Wind, he is brought into a world so unlike his own. Scared and alone, he lashes out, and the captain lashes right back. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. As such, this is somewhat unedited, and needs improvement. Constructive criticism is both wanted and appreciated. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Cover is mine, made with AutoDesk Sketchbook and BeFunky photo editor. - - - - Content warnings: Kidnapping, Violence, Cursing, Fighting, Torture, Death, mentions of past s*xual assault, and slavery. Please let me know if there's any other warnings that you think should be added! (I swear that makes it sound so much worse than it actually is. This is a lighthearted story about friendship, self discovery, family, and freedom.)

"Your hair is full of snow," He chuckled as he looked at her, reaching out to push a strand of hair behind her ear. Some snow successfully fell off her, but he didn't withdraw his hand. He cupped her cheek, wiping away a few snowflakes from it. She was frozen, staring at him like a deer caught in headlights, her heart pounding in her chest. Then, raising his other hand, he cupped her cheeks fully. His eyes began to trace every inch of her face; her eyes, her cheeks, her nose, before his gaze dropped to her lips. Her heart skipped a beat as she tried to keep herself together. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seventeen-year-old Valentina Barron doesn't have the most ideal home life. In a world where power is determined by the stars, Alina Vern was born under a forgotten, powerless constellation-cast aside and abandoned by her family. When her dormant magic awakens at a prestigious academy, she is seen as a charity case, a threat to the celestial order that governs society. But what no one knows is that Alina's magic is not bound to a star--it's something older, more dangerous, and capable of rewriting fate itself. Kael Draeven, a prince destined for greatness, is raised to believe in the divine superiority of his royal bloodline. Cold, ruthless, and trained to conquer any weakness, he despises Alina's perceived frailty. Tasked with keeping a close eye on her, Kael is determined to eliminate the threat she poses. But the deeper he digs into her past, the more he questions everything he's been taught. As Alina's power grows, so does the unraveling of a dangerous secret tied to her bloodline-and the prince's family, who may have been responsible for its destruction centuries ago. Torn between lovalty and his growing feelings for Alina, Kayle must choose between duty and desire. But in a kingdom built on lies, trust is a luxury neither of them can afford. In a world where magic is a weapon, love may be the greatest risk of all.
