In Graycott, the majority of people have a genetic mutation which gives them a physical attribute of an animal. Some have wings, some have tails, some have horns. However, whatever animal you share a trait with, you also share similar brain functions and habits with.
Eli Floran, a 17 year old Raven-traited boy, is no different. Excitable and bubbly, Eli shares many habits with that of a raven. Such as collecting objects he finds. However, Eli also is the head of change.
The Ravens of the Valley: a gang run by Eli that strives for the better treatment of the nonevolved, otherwise known as humans. Humans, now the minority to the evolved, have been pushed to the bottom of the food chain. Used as servants and forced into hard labour or commonly arrested for just being human, humans have been mistreated for centuries.
Eli wishes to change this. With the help of his gang and allies, Eli will force this way of life to end. Through a revolution, he will force the government to it's knees. At least, that's what he hopes.
---
"All we're asking for is equal treatment! And if they won't listen to peace, they'll go deaf by violence! We are declaring war today against the corruption of our government! We are demanding, not asking, to be taken seriously! These riots will spread like the fires we've lit today, and they will light the way to a better future for all! So we call for Zander Storms to declare change now, or we will bury him under the floorboards of a new age!"

Every year, wolves of age from around the country attend their Placing Tournament, the one thing that can single handedly make or break your future.
In this tournament, you are either a decided, undecided, or intended. Decided is for those who know what they want, undecided is for those who don't, and intended is for those who have no choice.
French-born Althea Lavois is ready. She's just turned 18 and ready to take the medical world by storm, leaving behind her parents with a dream of Sanitatem, Pack of Healing.
Until she meets her mate, Orion Westbrooke, an intended and the next Alpha of Vindex, the pack of warriors.
Accepting Orion means throwing away her dream, so what's a girl to do?
Lie, of course.

I had no idea whether or not he had followed me, or seen which building I went into. I would need to be careful, I knew for a fact that he was just on the floor above me.
No one could know, not even my parents. I was not giving up my dreams just because I had found my mate. Not a chance.
I knew he would make me. I could tell. But either way, I didn't want to take the chance.
Everything hit me at once.
I had found my mate.
He was the next Alpha of the Vindex Pack,
And I had practically just rejected him.
Shit.
