Charred corpses and ash drifting amidst the falling snow. These are Lana's first memories in life-memories that begin when she was 11 years old. Whenever Lana tries to remember her life before, she finds an impenetrable, terrifying blackness. Only in her dreams does Lana find light, along with visions more vibrant than waking reality.

When a traveling seer reveals secrets about Lana's past, it awakens nightmares and Lana finds herself hunted by ethereal creatures known as nightstalkers. While trying to escape, Lana finds herself inexplicably falling skyward-pulled into a strange land brimming with sunlight.

In this new land, Lana begins to piece together the truth about her past as she searches for a way to return home and save her family. Forced to confront the life she had forgotten while facing terrifying new threats, Lana discovers a new power that brings her dreams-and nightmares-to life.
