On the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. 

Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible. 

He got 8 of them. 

Eleanor (Ellie) Hargreeves is the 8th member of the Umbrella Academy. After the sudden death of her father, she returns home to be reunited with her siblings, after being apart for nearly 10 years. 

Will they be able to put their differences aside to save the world and become a family again in the process?
