Hecate was born with a rare condition. Her blood regenerated at an impossibly quick rate. She could never die of blood lose, and she could never get low on blood. One night, when she was four, two men had broken into her house and slaughtered her parents. These men, who were working at the time for a higher up, took Hecate and raised her.
Hecate is unhappy with her life though, living with the charming vampire Muse. She was normally home alone, as he often has business to attend too. Hecate plans on killing Muse, and being free. But overtime develops feelings for Muse, and a man named Cassius, who is driven mad when Hecate rejects becoming his, swears revenge on Hecate and Muse. A storm is brewing, and the two must face challenges that never imagined.

She finds some answers but they lead to more questions. Alex's were-hybrid heritage has finally caught up to her. There is no guarantee that she will survive what she considers Fates joke. The transformation turned out to be a long painful process. Her were-heritage demands that she claims Beth as her own. She is almost powerless to stop it or to make her own choice. Beth however has no choice but to complete the mating and be turned. It is that or die. When she nearly dies in the grip of the transformation Alex curses Fate and demands things be put right.
