I stop walking, turn around and sigh. "Mason, you're kind of a whore."
"I mean I was going through a hard time." He gives me a playful grin "I'm not using that as an excuse though."
"You know if you're having a hard time you can talk to someone."I say sincerely. "Not me though. I don't think I could handle talking to you for that long."
Mason's eyes lock onto mine and he touches his heart. "April, you really know how to talk to a man. Sometimes I think you're more worried about me than the mission."
I roll my eyes trying to remain my composure. "Well it wouldn't be good for me if my partner died now would it."
He chuckles. "No, I guess not."
April (26) and Mason (26) have worked together for years fighting crime for the organization Nexus. April tends to be snappy but anxious at the same time. While Mason is the complete opposite, he just goes with the flow. Their current mission is to take down 'Team X'. A notorious gang known for exploiting teens and getting them addicted to drugs. As they tackle this mission new emotions are coming into light and things are getting hot.
