“Hey Sybill, how much for that weeping angel statue out back?”

“Hmm, dearie?” Sybill looked at her bemused.

“The weeping angel statue you have out with the other lawn ornaments, how much does it cost?”

“Sorry, dear, we don’t have a weeping angel statue here. You might try that other garden centre ‘cross town if you’re looking for one.”

“But I saw it out there, it had a chip on its right wing,” Anna stated matter-of-factly.

“Sorry, love, I know everything we have here, and we’ve never had a weeping angel statue.”

TheFriendshipAwards 3rd place winner (2017) *** I take a deep breath and say flatly, "What I'm about to tell you is very important. It's called the Angel Rule." Everyone raises a questioning eyebrow at me, "The Angel Rule?" I nod, "Yes. It's something we all need to follow, no matter what. It's like any other rule. If you break it, there are consequences." "What's the rule, Emma?" "There are three concepts to this rule. One, don't blink. Two, don't turn your head, and three, don't look away. If you break any of these three rules, you're dead." *** Emma Rose Santana has recently moved into a small town with her family for a better life despite the ongoing relationship problems in the family. When Emma's mother, Anna, purchases a lifelike angel statue with a cursed reputation from Silverside High's golden boy, Mason Geller's garage sale, things take a horrible turn in the Santana family. Emma and her sister, Clarice, start witnessing strange occurrences in their house, from the angel statue changing locations to horrible nightmares that feel all too real. On the other hand, Emma faces a conflicting relationship between Mason Geller and his mysteriously handsome ex-best friend, Josh Price, with a dark past possibly related to the angel statue. Emma's parents don't seem to believe a statue made of stone could do this, but they seem to be hiding a secret of their own, just like Mason and Josh. As Emma deals with her broken relationship with her mother and a tragic incident with a person she loves dearly, Emma and her friends unravel the truth behind the angel statue, who is much sinister than it looks, along with the dark secrets Mason and Josh have been suppressing for so long. *** This fanfiction book is a spin-off on a Doctor Who episode and a creepypasta about Weeping Angels. You do not need to know anything about Doctor Who to read this book. [100,000-105,000 words approx.]

"Yes, you are. Don't you have any shame?" "Shame?" I asked, confused with what shame has to do with being jealous. "Yes, shame. Don't you have any shame for yourself? You're jealous of a woman being with your mate who wants nothing to do with you. Isn't that pathetic?" he asks, shocking me with his cruel words. "Why would you say something like that?" I ask, feeling my voice shake. "Because if you've forgotten your place. You're my destined mate, but you will never be my chosen mate," he says, venom dripping with every word. I can't hold the tears any longer, so I quickly run away from him. I can't spend another second close to him.
