He said it like it was a statement rather than a question. She wanted to tell him that it wasn't as simple as that. She would never do anything that would harm the village or anyone in it. But she wasn't able to say it, like all the other times. She could never talk when it mattered most.

They were all looking at her, waiting for her response. Almost like they were hoping she would say something that would change what he said and the implications that came with it.
