The Journey

"Wait you're moving to where?" I asked.
"It's only for a few years, Jenni," he explained.
"Four years is more than a few," I mumbled.
"I can't say no to CalArts!"
"But you can say good bye to me?"
"I'm sorry, I'll miss you. Very much."
The tears were stinging my eyes. As soon as one started to fall, the rest came rolling down my cheeks.
"Please, Jennifer, don't cry."
He embraced me.
I was going to miss his lemony smell and his brown eyes and the way he made me laugh.
I felt his phone buzz.
He reached into his pocket to check it.
He entered his passcode and sighed.

"My ride, it's here. I have to go."
"Okay. This is goodbye I guess."
"I don't want to call it goodbye, so see you later."
