Little Wonders
Set in 2024, the story takes place 30 years after the events of Silverlake, where evolved animals were finally accepted into human society thanks to Emily and Nathan's friendship, which made history worldwide. Unfortunately, there are still humans who harbor prejudice against evolved animals, but the extreme prejudice of the past has ceased. This novella tells the story of Peter, a 10-year-old boy who is an evolved animal, but genetically different from the rest of the population. Feared and excluded, he is seen as "the next stage in the evolution of evolved animals", suffering prejudice from both evolved animals and humans. His life changes when he meets Travis and Karina, two 10-year-old human kids. Karina suffers xenophobia for being Brazilian and Travis suffers racism for being biracial. The true friendship that blooms between them teaches Peter that it's okay to be different and that asking for help is a sign of strength. Being unique is the true wonder. Following the suggestion of my friend, Tsu Kheel, I decided to try to expand the universe of my second book, Silverlake. And the cover art was done by myself and my best friend, NOTG. Yes, we did this art together, where I drew two human characters and he drew one furry character, in addition to coloring the entire drawing. Silverlake (English Version)
Set in 1994 in Silverlake, an American metropolis in Minnesota, the story takes place in a world in which several animals on the planet are evolving drastically, becoming anthropomorphic. These animals are having human characteristics where they have acquired several human abilities like speech, much to the surprise of humans. Due to this evolution, humans began to fear for these animals, generating hatred and prejudice against them. This started a conflict between humans and evolved animals, where tensions and hostilities between them began to increase at an alarming and dangerous rate. The story revolves around an unlikely friendship between Emily Hartwood, a lonely 12-year-old girl, and Nathan Davison, an extroverted 13-year-old fox. This dramatic story was inspired by the film The Cure (1995) and the concept of animals evolving was inspired by the idea of the next stage of human evolution explored in Marvel Comics' X-Men.
