Maxine Johnson is a sixteen year old girl with tourrete syndrome. After getting bitten by a spider at a spider exhibit, she develops new and strange abilities. As Max is still trying to get things right with life, her new abilities and new love interest only leave her life spiralling into chaos. Considering the fact that Max has not been the best kid on the block, when consequences begin to catch up, will she learn that with great power comes great responsibility? Will she learn to right her wrongs? And will she try to be more like the guy from the comic book... no matter how different she obviously is from him?
