The 'Wrought in Flames' series is set in two periods in time. One, in 2013, follows Jim, a young historian, and his wife Cassie, a school teacher, set out to discover their Revolutionary War ancestors. The other is during the period of the social and political strife of the American Revolution. 'Tyranny Among Us' is the first book in this series. As Jim and Cassie begin their journey through history, the first two years of the American Revolution unfold before their eyes. Meanwhile, in 1774, residents of Northampton County, Pennsylvania are thrust into a war that many don't want. At the center of the conflict is the city of Easton, Pennsylvania; a small frontier town of a little over 300 people, mainly of German descent, whose residents soon realize that the war isn't far away in New England. It has come to their own homes. What will Jim and Cassie find along the way? What can they learn about the families desperately trying to survive on the Pennsylvania frontier in a world torn asunder? How will their ancestors cope with this new and brutal reality? Who will fall along the way? ***Author's Note: I have included a 1775 map of the region in the Media Column to the right of Chapter 1; to view, right-click on the image and copy the image location and paste it in a new tab.*** ***PLEASE VOTE!*** =)
