When a nuclear bomb detonates within a major city, many questions arise. Who set the bomb off? Why did they set it off? Most importantly, what got released into the air?
The bomb's explosion causes black rain to fall from the sky, saturating the earth with particles known as black dust. This catastrophic event triggers thunderstorms world wide and whatever that bomb released into the air, is a virus only killing the female population and drastically altering the male populations genetic appearance.
Meanwhile, Lei an undergraduate at a prestigious university, only ever wanted to graduate from college and become independent. But, when Lei and her roommate Ashley seem to be the only females not affected by the deadly virus, her dream of independence becomes an echo in the wind. Now, Lei must focus on surviving, finding a cure, and guarding her heart from the roommate she once disliked.
