In the modern era of ghosting and tinder, women are trying to navigate their love lives while still holding on to things from the past. These short essays show what it means to find love while being emotionally damaged and what it takes to really find out who we are. Change can be a daunting task and often difficult for us to even figure out where to start, but it is possible if we first get to know who we are and what our purpose is. How do we find happiness? Our soulmate? Become a better society? We can start by examining our own beliefs and where they came from. As a sarcastic writer who questions everything, I want to dispel myths that we've held on to such as not settling for a mate and why we shouldn't lower our standards. As young girls, we been taught that we're all special and need to hold out for someone else who is special, but are we really that special? Technology may have changed, but human nature has always been the same. What should change is our acknowledgement of what we hold on to and why we don't accept change.
