Reid is a supervillain. She has the ability to make people see illusions or hallucinate, and she dedicates her time trying to get revenge on the person who killed her parents. The only problem is that the killer is the best known superhero in the entire world named Extreme, and he has super strength. Reid knows it hard to kill someone with super strength... After all, she's been trying to kill him since her childhood. With the help of the other villains, they finally made a plan that would take him down for good. But it all relies on one thing... Reid to shoot him directly in the heart. When Reid misses the one shot that could kill him, she loses everything. People everywhere are searching for her, and the other villains kicked her out of the only home she ever knew. Now living in the streets, Reid has no one to rely on. She then meets Jayden... Extreme's son, who also inherited the super strength. She knows Jayden is supposed to be her enemy. He's a superhero, after all. He's the son of the man who killed her parents. But the more they get to know each other, the more she begins to fall for him.

She killed the man who murdered her parents, but that just isn't good enough. No one with that much power can be trusted to use it wisely. Carter trained for years to hone her mind and body into a perfect weapon. A weapon that could kill people capable of smashing cars and catching lighting. The man who killed her parents was a Super, and more of them were appearing every day. They wielded god-like powers, but who could stop them when it goes to their heads? The People's Hand was the perfect group for Carter to join. Assassins dedicated to stopping Supers before more lives were lost. Now Carter has gotten a mission completely foreign to her skillset. How is she supposed to masquerade as a Super? How is she supposed to mingle with the same people she's devoted her life to destroying? What if she's been wrong?
