When a total power black-out hits the world - planes falling from the sky, cars crashing, cell phones and computers dying - two Englishmen are stranded, separately, on the East Coast of the US. They both try to make their way to their girlfriend and sister, respectively, who is trapped in New York. As society turns quickly to chaos, the two men encounter violence, tragedy, friendships and adventure, joined along the way by several different characters.
Meanwhile, the girl they are working their way towards is surviving as best she can, all the while terribly worried for her idol; Harry Styles, of the band One Direction, who were performing in New York at the time of the unexplained apocalyptic event
Harry Styles, after losing everything, a weak boy now a witness of the world crumbling down as a brain eating virus breaks out. It brings the dead alive, with a mad craving for flesh. As time goes by bullets run out and guns are stolen from bandits. Harry is left to face the diseased world with no weapon. He is left in a scandal to smuggle someone to the city of Chicago in order to get a payment of needed guns, but before he can think about pulling the trigger on those guns he needs to lead her to Chicago, Illinois all the way from Los Angeles, California. Her name's Alice, hopeless, the girl who has never had something. And she is stuck with Harry for the adventure of crossing the country on foot, but that's the least of their worries as they find themselves in a lot of trouble with the infected.
