The Balance (First Draft | Discontinued)
A brutal war. A girl raised as a proud soldier, all too willing to fight and die for her country. A man whose life has been shattered, remade into one of fear and rage and hate. A boy who is caught in the web of politics, who experiences horrible things not meant for anyone, much less a child as young as he. This is a tale of two countries at war, and the lives of the people who reside there, featuring some supernatural powers, heavy religion, and some quite frankly terrible people. The story and its characters are my creation; any similarity to other works or to current events is not intended. Plagiarism is not acceptable... honestly, have a bit of self-respect. I don't particularly care if you vote for this work or not. My only desire is feedback so that I can become a better writer. Before humans were created the Earth we lived in was divided by both light and darkness. One section was divided with darkness and the other half with light, among the light and the darkness. Regular Humans lived . They lived in isolation among themselves thinking that this was the law, And believing that they weren't so much alike. It has been like this for centuries, until 'the all soo power one' saw how truly discord and sinful the two clans had become with each other. They then concluded to create "Night" and "Day" which shone during their specific time period. (Merriam-Webster) *** Some say the gods are dead. That Godswar left no victor standing. That perhaps they never wore flesh at all, and old tales are mere tales. Others say they have left this land to their creations, or merely left their bodies, and are now the living spirit of their own element, gifting and empowering their chosens. There's, however, a whisper of madness, or perhaps a jest, that the gods are alive, never ceasing to weave fate to their whims. That they will be seen once again, in time to finish Godswar. Whether it is the gods' will, or not, as the ambitions of kings and outlaws tangle with ploys of betrayal, personal vendettas, fury and passion, the brewing of war overflows.
