I have sat often in front of the computer, and stared long at the screen without ever writing a word. The synopsis for this project has haunted me since the first person asked me "So, what is it about?", and to this day I have never been able to deliver a straight answer. This book is about a number of things, many of which do not fit evenly into a succinct description. I have tried to make them fit and have found the resulting descriptions ill-representing and dull. Thus, I have decided to go without a description. This book will fade into obscurity no matter what I put here, so I might as well write what's really important. Winter in a city is an especially punishing time. This book comes out of my late nights and early mornings riding the train, and my looking at the window and being able to make out nothing but the blur of the glass. From the outside it may look dead, but certain people know that the inner workings of a city are a true marvel to behold. In writing this, I have tried to capture that marvel and deliver it to you, the reader. This is a book about a city and the people within it. The rest is up for you to read, if you so choose. Remains of Humanity
After a nuclear war nearly in 2150 the whole Earth has become uninhabitable for humans. There are some major cities which are still running but have very scarce resources such as food, water and oil. There are tall, thick walls protecting people from the outside world, surrounding the whole city and there is a ceiling, blocking the radiation from seeping in as air is filtered through the roof. The year is now 2205 which is the beginning for Earth to become how it was before. There are a group of people called The Warriors who go out and try to look for resources, facing death daily. A seventeen year old boy tries to steal food for his friend, he gets caught and is sentenced to death. The only way he could get out is if he joined The Warriors to search for a mythical jungle which is rumored to be flourishing in food and water. The journey is going to be very dangerous and death can come at any corner. There are bandit clans, somehow surviving outside of the walls and new types of animals unseen from humans that they didn't know existed. He will meet new friends, make some enemies and will be manipulated to do some really idiotic things, will he survive the journey and become a hero? Or will he die anyway?Complete
