Claire, her partner Helen and a bunch of their gay friends have just started their own high school. Run by queer folks for queer kids, it's the first of its kind in the world. After the onslaught of opposition they faced to get the school open, they thought everyone would just leave them alone and let the kids go to school. Call it naivety, but they were very, very wrong. Maybe Rainbow Academy isn't the safe space it was intended to be.

Amongst the political fight to keep the school open, is a bunch of kids, who just want the chance to go to school with others like themselves. They may be queer, but they're also just teenagers. Queer school or none, some teenage experiences are universal, no matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from, or who you love.

Rainbow Academy is a story about the fight for justice and recognition, love, loss, awakening and self discovery.

Everyone thinks he should have recovered after that much time, but Allan still haunts Elliot every night. He struggles to maintain relationships with his family, and despite a coworkers interest he can't summon up the courage to date. Elliot is living for the past, because to live for the present means he'll have to live with a hole in his heart. But the question Elliot has to face chases him through his monotonous days: is mourning Allan with everything he has truly living? [[word count: 40,000-50,000 words]]
