Effie Jordan had never fit in. The real world was too intimidating, too scary, too cruel. Fictional worlds were not. After a fateful strike of lightning, she finds herself transported into her book; a witch in the same year as the Boy Who Lived himself.

For a boy who everything new or unusual in his life ends up trying to kill him, Harry finds trusting people hard. Especially the new girl who appears out of nowhere his third year with no background but too much knowledge.

{mostly canon-compliant with the exception of my OCs and their storylines}

[Cross post from AO3] First-person POV, girl, original character Cedric was dead. Clarette Morganach had lost her only and true friend. Her grief consumed her, warping her into something she no longer recognized-someone desperate to undo the tragedy regardless of the cost. Being the heir to Isidora Morganach, a legendary 15th-century witch who mastered a sort of forbidden ancient magic, she strived to turn back time and rewrite the past with her unusual magical capabilities. Did she succeed? Or is this a completely different reality where she could see only echoes of her other self-fragmented, fleeting glimpses of what she might lose? Could she save Cedric this time? -------- A deeply intricate and emotionally charged story exploring timeline divergence, personal identity, grief, and redemption-with a hefty dose of Hogwarts intrigue and carefully woven canon divergence. This is about second chances, fighting fate, and proving that sometimes, just sometimes...everyone can live. This one's filled with love, darkness, and all the happy endings, for the brave few willing to fight for them. Buckle up, readers, this is going to be a long, transformative journey!
