Mia de la Torre is an 18-year-old girl who comes from a small town in Chicago raised by her two parents who migrated to the US so they could provide a better life for themselves and now their children. She is the second child out of four. Mia has just graduated high school and has the summer to decide where she will attend college. Mia has always been to herself and not very interactive with the outside world. She was raised in a Hispanic family were going far away for college was not an option. But for Mia that was all she ever dreamed of. To go into the big apple one day and pursue her career in culinary arts. Learn from the best there is. But there were some obstacles that would get in the way. Her parents would not only not accept her leaving so far from home but they would not accept the fact that she will not be going into nursing school but instead culinary school. How will Mia stand up to her parents to live the dream she has waiting to live...
